Add reps. Then add weight.
Never guess what goes on the bar.
Double progression is the oldest rule in strength training that still works. Most people never make the switch from reps to weight because nobody tells them when. This app does.

Reps first. Weight second. Automatically.
Pick a rep range. Fill it from the bottom up across every set. Only when the top of the range holds in all of them, the bar gets heavier and you start climbing again.
What the app does between sessions
- Remembers every setWeight, reps and sets for each lift. Logging takes a couple of taps.
- Knows which phase you are inNew lifts climb linearly while they can. When that stops working, the lift switches to double progression and the rep range widens.
- Tells you the next stepMore reps, or a small jump in weight once the range is full.
- Backs off when you stallIt doesn't push harder. It drops the weight so you can climb back up.
For people who'd rather train than plan
A plan that fits your week, a clear next step for every lift, and a record of your progress.

From first open to first PR
A few minutes to set up, then each session you just open the app and train.

Barbell strength and bodyweight skills
Every tree is a path of small, testable steps. Strength steps are measured in multiples of your bodyweight, the same unit calisthenics uses, and they unlock on their own from your training log. The first tier in every category is free forever.
Rack taken? Swap on the spot.
Every lift knows its movement pattern, so the app offers a substitute right there, including on different equipment from the one your plan assumed. (Plus)
A number behind every claim
No "this will help you recover". Every recommendation carries the actual study result, one tap away. Where something is the authors' estimate and not a measurement, the app says so.

Questions
What is double progression?
You work inside a rep range, for example 8–12. Each session you try to add reps. Once you hit the top of the range in every set, you add a small amount of weight and start again from the bottom. It's simple, but most people never make the switch at the right moment.
I'm a complete beginner. Is this for me?
Yes. The placement test finds your starting point and every tree starts with a first step you can actually do. While a lift is new, the app adds weight every session. It only switches to double progression once that stops working.
Do I need a gym?
No. The calisthenics trees only need a bar, rings or the floor. The plan generator builds around the equipment you have: barbell, dumbbells, cables, machines or bodyweight.
What happens when I stall?
The app doesn't push harder. It lowers the weight so you can climb back up. It won't prescribe a week off by default, because the one trial that tested it directly found the week off lost strength.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Double Progression is on Android via Google Play.
Is it a medical device?
No. Double Progression doesn't replace a coach or a doctor. If you have an injury or a health condition, check with a professional first.
